1. The Programme
1.1 The Lekka Card Referral Programme ("Programme") lets registered Lekka Card customers ("Referrer") nominate local businesses ("Nominated Business") to join the Lekka Card platform.
1.2 The Programme is operated by Lekka Card, a trading name operating in the Western Cape, South Africa.
1.3 Participation is entirely voluntary. No purchase or payment is required to take part or to refer, and no payment is made to you for referring.
1.4 We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Programme at any time without prior notice.
2. Eligibility
2.1 To participate as a Referrer, you must be a registered Lekka Card customer with an account in good standing.
2.2 A Nominated Business must:
- Be a business not previously registered on the Lekka Card platform at the time of referral
- Not be owned, operated, or controlled by the Referrer
- Register using the Referrer's unique referral link or code
2.3 Lekka Card may make participation available to its employees and contractors, but they are not eligible for any recognition tiers or promotional perks described below.
3. How It Works
3.1 Each customer is issued a unique referral code, accessible from their account screen in the Lekka Card app.
3.2 The Referrer shares their unique referral link with a business they would like to see on Lekka.
3.3 The Nominated Business must register using the Referrer's link or code at the time of registration. Referral codes cannot be applied retrospectively to existing accounts.
3.4 A referral is recorded when the Nominated Business completes registration through the Referrer's unique link.
3.5 The referral must be traceable to the Referrer's unique code in Lekka Card's system. Verbal referrals or referrals made outside the platform link cannot be tracked.
4. Recognition & Rewards
4.1 The Programme is built on goodwill. The main benefit of referring a business is simply that it joins Lekka — so you, and others in your community, can start collecting stamps and earning rewards there.
4.2 The Programme does not offer any cash, gift voucher, or other monetary reward. Any previous Takealot voucher or annual-plan incentive no longer applies.
4.3 As a thank-you, your Lekka Card account may display recognition — such as a "Local Champion" status reflecting the number of businesses you have helped bring onto Lekka. Any such recognition is for display purposes only, has no cash value, and is non-transferable.
4.4 From time to time we may run optional promotions or perks connected to referrals. Where we do, the specific terms of that promotion will be published at the time and will take precedence over this section for that promotion only.
4.5 There is no limit to the number of businesses you may nominate.
5. Fair Use
5.1 Lekka Card reserves the right to disregard any referral and remove any associated recognition if:
- The referral was made using fraudulent, automated, or bulk methods
- The Referrer and the Nominated Business are the same person or are acting in collusion
- The Referrer's account is suspended or terminated for any reason
- Any attempt is made to manipulate or abuse the Programme
5.2 Lekka Card's decision on these matters is final.
6. Privacy
6.1 By participating in the Programme, you consent to Lekka Card processing your personal information for the purposes of administering the Programme, in accordance with our Privacy Policy and the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 (POPIA).
6.2 We will not share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes without your consent.
7. General
7.1 These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.
7.2 Any disputes arising from the Programme will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
7.3 These terms are to be read together with Lekka Card's general Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
7.4 If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force.
