What happens when I reach my plan’s limit?

We tell you well before you get there, so it is never a surprise at the till. At the limit your existing customers carry on exactly as they are, with their cards, their stamps and their rewards intact. Anyone new is offered a place on a short waiting list, and the first person to take one starts a 30-day countdown: move up a plan in that time and everyone waiting joins at once. If the 30 days pass, we let the people waiting know and your card stays closed to new customers until you upgrade. Nothing is ever deleted, nobody gets cut off, and nothing is ever charged to your card automatically, so nothing can be charged by surprise.

Common questions

The honest answers

How do you count my customers?

Total signups, for the life of your account. If someone joins your card they count, and they keep counting whether they came in yesterday or last winter. We deliberately do not use a rolling activity window: plenty of businesses have regulars who disappear for months and come back, and a number that fell every winter would be worse than useless. Free covers 50, Starter 250, Growth 500 and Premium 1,000. Enterprise has no limit.

So what does it cost to start?

Nothing. The Free plan runs your loyalty programme for up to 50 customers with no card on file and no expiry, so you can prove the idea before you spend anything. When it is clearly working, Starter is R249/mo and adds broadcasts, basic insights and a daily digest.

Is there a customer limit on paid plans?

Yes, and it is the honest way to size the plans. Starter covers up to 250 customers, Growth 500 and Premium 1,000, counted as total signups. Enterprise has no limit. We never charge per customer or per stamp on any plan, so an individual signup never costs you anything, and we tell you well before you reach a limit. If you are heading past 1,000, we will call you before it matters.

What happens when I reach my customer limit?

We tell you well before you get there. At the limit everyone who already has a card carries on exactly as normal. Anyone new is offered a place on a short waiting list (15 on Free, 25 on Starter, 50 on Growth, 100 on Premium), and the first person to take one starts a 30-day countdown. Move up a plan in that time and every person waiting joins at once, and we tell them. If the 30 days pass, we let the people waiting know that you could not take them, and your card stays closed to new customers until you upgrade. Nothing is deleted and nobody who already has a card is cut off.

Can you design my counter cards for me?

Yes. Every plan can print a counter card from your dashboard for nothing, and it does the job. If you would rather have one built around your logo, your colours and your reward, our designers will produce a set for R749 once: A5, A4 and A3 plus a Scan to Stamp card for behind the counter, print ready with bleed and crop marks. You get three concepts to choose from and a revision on the one you pick, usually about two working days from the point we have what we need. We design them, you are free to use whichever printer you like. It is included on Premium and Enterprise.

Can I add branding and Google reviews to Starter?

Not any more. Custom branding puts your colours and logo on the customer card, and review canvassing asks happy regulars for a Google review at the moment they are happiest. Both are part of Growth at R499/mo, along with the refer a friend programme and advanced insights, rather than being sold piecemeal on Starter. Starter is the plan that runs the card well; Growth is the plan that grows the business.

What if I am already on a paid plan?

Nothing changes on your next invoice. If your plan or price moves at any point, we talk it through with you first.

What is the difference between Starter and Growth?

Starter runs the card: broadcasts, basic insights, a daily digest and up to 250 customers. Growth adds what brings new customers in and keeps regulars coming back: custom branding, Google review canvassing, the refer a friend programme, advanced insights with an AI-written analysis, team accounts at R25 per staff login, priority support, room for 500 customers, 3 loyalty programmes and the option of a second site. If you run one site on your own and are under 250 customers, Starter is genuinely the right plan and we would rather you stayed on it.

Is there a discount for non-profits?

Yes. Verified South African non-profits get 50% off the monthly price of any paid plan. We verify every application by hand against the public NPO register, and if you move between paid plans later the discount moves with you.

Is there a discount for paying annually?

Yes. Pay for a year up front and save 20%. Use the monthly and yearly toggle above to see what each plan costs either way.

How does multi-location billing work?

Starter is a single-site plan. Growth includes one site and can add a second for R199/mo. From three sites you are on Premium, which includes 3 and charges R199/mo for each one after that, up to 5 in total. 6 or more sites is Enterprise, with volume pricing. A customer’s stamps count at every one of your sites, and Insights break your activity down by site.

When do I need Enterprise?

When you run 6 or more sites, trade under more than one brand, expect to pass 1,000 customers, or need your group to report as a group. Pricing depends entirely on the number of sites and how you want to be invoiced, so it begins with a conversation rather than a signup form.

How do team accounts work?

Each staff member signs in at the till with their name and their own 4-digit PIN, and you choose what each role can see and do. Billing and staff management stay owner-only unless you switch them on. From Growth up they cost R25 per staff login per month, up to 10 staff on Growth and 50 on Premium. Your own login is free and never counted. Deactivate a login and you stop paying for it from the next invoice.

What is the difference between basic and advanced insights?

Basic insights, on every paid plan, show total stamps, unique visitors, new members and rewards redeemed for any date range. Advanced insights, from Growth up, add return rate, stamps per visit, busiest times and days, top customers, stamps by programme, an AI-written analysis of your numbers and a workbook export of every stamp and reward.

Why is there a set-up fee on API access?

Because switching it on is real work rather than a toggle. The one-off R4,999 covers issuing your credentials, a sandbox to build against, the documentation walkthrough, and our time supporting your developer through the first working integration. It is charged once, with your first invoice after you enable it, and it is included on Enterprise.

Are there any hidden fees or taxes?

No. The price you see is the price you pay. Lekka Card is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added, and there are no per-transaction fees.

How does this compare with loyalty built into my card machine?

The two charge you in completely different ways. Loyalty built into a card machine is normally funded as a percentage of every loyal sale, so the cost rises with your turnover and lands hardest on your best customers. Lekka is a flat monthly fee plus the cost of the rewards you actually give, so it is capped by your own reward design. Neither is automatically cheaper, it depends on your numbers, so we have put a calculator on one page to work it out.

Compare the two funding models

Do I need a credit card to start?

No. The Free plan never asks for one. On a paid plan we email you an invoice for the month ahead with a Pay now link, and you choose how to pay it: card, instant EFT, Scan to Pay or Capitec Pay through our payment partner Paystack, or a bank transfer. Nothing is ever charged to your card automatically.

What happens to my customer data if I cancel?

It stays yours. Every plan, Free included, can export your full customer list as CSV at any time, so download it whenever you like. To cancel, or to have your business account and data deleted, email hello@lekkacard.co.za. We do not hold customer data hostage.

“Our customers love it. New customers are joining every day.”
